We are looking to fill the position of a Drafter to convert designs into technical plans immediately. At West Coast Agricultural Construction Company we do offer a very competitive salary and health insurance after a probation period.
Draftsman responsibilities including but not limited to: gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods, ordering equipment and materials, and job costing
If you have hands-on experience with Solidworks and are familiar with building processes, wed like to meet you. Ultimately, youll help us build functional, secure and well-designed equipment and structures. Equally important to prior experience with Solidworks would be the ability to work well within a team and independently. If you do not have experience with Solidworks then please don't apply for either of these positions. The ideal candidate for this job would be driven, focused, open minded with the ability to communicate effectively. As well as having experience with structural steal design and has a clear understanding of building codes.
Responsibilities
Liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
Describe production methods step-by-step
Create detailed designs with Solidworks
Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
Prepare and review rough sketches and review them with management
Cost estimating
Ability to order and track materials
Ability to meet deadlines
Discuss plans and details with field personnel
Be open minded to receiving feedback about designs and contribute ideas about possible operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
Create manuals that describe existing products operation, features and maintenance
Frequent travel to job-sites within and outside of the state
STRONG problem solving and TEAM PLAYER skills
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role
Hands-on experience (expert level) with Solidworks
Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
Superior math skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Degree in Engineering or from a technical college
. Experience with structural steal design
. Clear understanding of building codes
