Job Title: Shop Helper (17$HRLY great foot in the door to higher-level roles)Job DescriptionThe job duties include cleaning, painting, and minor repair of crane components and accessories. You must be able to assist with rigging for the loading and unloading of equipment, follow all safety procedures, and all standard operating procedures. Clean and prepare crane components, which includes scraping concrete from crane towers, cleaning and buffing pins/bolts for tower sections using hand grinders/bench grinders. Repair crane and hoist components using basic mechanics hand tools. Learn and operate shop machinery and power tools. Utilize proper rigging equipment. Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment. Ensure lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use. Adapt to changes in the work environment and be able to multi-task and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of company-supplied PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and body harnesses. You must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Responsibilities

Clean, paint, and perform minor repair of crane components and accessories.

Assist with rigging for loading and unloading of equipment.

Essential Skills

Experience with production, hand tools, and power tools.

Ability to use shop equipment and power tools.

Experience with grinding, sandblasting, pressure washing, and deburring.

Ability to operate forklifts.

Understanding and proper use of company-supplied safety equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, and body harnesses.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

General labor experience.

Assembly experience.

Work EnvironmentWorking in an industrial shop and industrial yard, you will be exposed to various equipment and tools. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines, including the use of PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and body harnesses.
