Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat & Conference Center has immediate openings for a summer hire with great potential to become full-time on its Guest Experience Team.
We are looking for candidates with a proven history of managing, curating and executing events, with an understanding of holistic wellness programming. A positive attitude, responsible work ethic and ability to live and work in a cooperative environment are a must. This position reports to the Director of Guest Experience.
The Guest Experience Team seeks candidates who live their values around service, self-motivation and clear, honest communication. Applicants need good customer service and communication skills, computer literacy, great phone presence, cashiering experience, the ability to adapt and multitask efficiently, pay attention to details and work closely with a team.
Breitenbush is not normal! We are a worker-owned cooperative business stewarding a beautiful off-grid mountain retreat center on the Breitenbush River. Our 30+ staff and 35,000 guests per year draw on a deep sense of purpose and collective ownership, not conventional measures of wealth.
Job Description
Develops and maintains relationships with workshop and faculty presenters, healers and staff for retreats, workshops and well-being programs
Works in conjunction with external Event Coordinators
Works with Guest Experience Director to produce contracts for events
Maintains schedules for events, massage therapists, and daily well-being programs
Works in Registration System (ResNexus)
Ensure the guest environment and all guest services meet Breitenbush standards for quality of service
Cross-trained on all Guest Experience Team functions including, but not limited to: Guest Registration, Store Front, Guest Communication, Clearing Arts and Customer Service
Essential Qualifications:
Prior Event Planning with a focus on Well-Being Programs
Strong customer service and de-escalation abilities
A general understanding of budgeting and contract negotiation
Proficient with Google Suite and able to quickly learn software programs
Ability to work independently, and closely and constructively with a team
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Certifications in Yoga, Personal Training, Holistic Wellness, Massage Therapy, Reiki, etc
CPR, First Aid, Safety
Organizational skills - ability to execute tasks efficiently, accurately, and independently
Ability to listen carefully to resolve guest issues within our policies using diplomacy and kindness
Administration skills - Time management, strategic planning, resourceful, detail oriented, anticipate needs.
Important Note on Compensation:
Let's cut to one of the most unusual parts of Breitenbush: almost everybody at Breitenbush makes the same amount of money. Currently that's $12.75 per hour, Oregon minimum wage. However, for the right candidate, our compensation package is very rich. Though it is hard to measure, many of us that live and work here relate to the total compensation package as feeling closer to $20/hour. Below is a list of benefits.

Housing Considerations:
At Breitenbush, you do receive free housing. Because our housing is very limited, there is the need to be flexible around housing. Many of us share housing. Some of us do not have running water, a bathroom or kitchen in our housing, but share those amenities with others.
This position will start as a summer hire (July through September) with great potential to become full-time.
