Looking for well-rounded restaurant staff for FOH!

We are a humble café, off the beaten path. If you’ve not yet herd (pun intended) of us yet, don’t let that scare you (we’re Salem’s best kept secret!) We’re only open Tue-Sun 8:30am-4pm, so NO late nights! Get home at a reasonable time & hang out with your pets, kids, family &/or that great book/game/whatever!
What we’re looking for:
Well-rounded restaurant workers wanting to learn or brush up on their serving skills. Experience is preferred but not required.
Duties to include, but not limited to: primarily FOH tasks such as serving, tending bar, making espresso/coffee, seating guests, taking orders both in person & over the phone, busing tables, stocking front & cleaning bathrooms & front lobby equipment. On occasion, we may also need help in the back either with closing up &/or washing dishes.
Base pay starts at $15.25, until we can assess skill & get you fully trained on our menu & processes. ABOUT TIPS: we conduct a tip pool, which means the tips for the day are split up evenly among hourly staff. Most of the time you can expect at minimum $5/hr, or more, on top of your base pay! That’s just the low-end average however, it generally goes up from there, depending on the day. So at minimum, you can expect to start at about $20/hour, +more on good to great days (& with skilled & dependable workers, we like to see you earning more)! :D
Here at Black Sheep we prefer to manage tips on a shared basis like this as it helps foster a true team environment, team-oriented attitudes & helps breakup the divisive behavior between servers & FOH/BOH workers.
Required Certification: Food Handler Permit (must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire); Alcohol Server Permit (required before you can pour, serve or take alcohol orders)
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time, depending on candidate's schedule/preference
Pay Rate: $15.25 /hour + equal part of tip pool
Benefits: PTO (includes sick leave), available for employees averaging min. of 25+ hrs/week
Required education: High school or equivalent
