As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The population you will serve will range in age from 18months to 13 years old. Your dedication and expertise will contribute to the growth and progress of clients, helping them acquire essential life skills and achieve their fullest potential. Responsibilities:
Implement individualized ABA therapy programs under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Work closely with clients and their families to establish rapport, trust, and effective communication.
Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior change.
Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients, following prescribed treatment plans and intervention strategies.
Collect and record data on client progress and behavior during therapy sessions.
Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to analyze data and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
Assist clients in developing and improving social, communication, and adaptive skills.
Incorporate play-based activities and structured teaching methods to engage and teach clients effectively.
Maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for clients and actively participate in creating a positive atmosphere.
Attend regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in ABA therapy.
Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality of client information at all times.
Assist in preparing progress reports and documentation for client reviews and evaluations.
Obtain RBT or Registered Behavior Technician Certification within 6months of employment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to other location within the Salem area.
Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
