The primary purpose of the Area Relief Direct Support Professional (DSP-AR) is to assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in our communities and nation. The DSP-AR is generally utilized when there are long-term openings or there is a need for additional staff. It is the role of the DSP-AR to provide a feeling of reassurance, stability, and support to the team members and people supported. They are role models, mentors, and ambassadors to the team members they work with and people they support.

Pay: $23.00 per hour - Some shifts may have added differentials that are applied after all trainings are completed. We are also offering a $1,000 sign on bonus that is paid out in increments at set milestones of your employment!

General Requirements:
-Must have at least 1 year of employment or volunteer experience with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 lbs (some shifts require more).
-Be able to be certified and maintain an acceptable level of certification in Oregon Intervention System (OIS).
-Be able to be certified and maintain certification in CPR/First aid.
-Pass a state/federal Criminal history and protective service investigation check, this may include being fingerprinted.
-Pass a pre-employment drug screen for the use of illegal substances in Oregon.
-Possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
-Basic computer skills - computer assessment will be administered before hiring.
Area Relief Specific Requirements:
-This position requires that you be able to work a variety of shifts. Including, but not limited to, days, swings, awake overnights, and live in positions. Working weekends (Saturday and Sunday) is a requirement for this position. The working location of your schedule is varied.
-The Residential Team Support Coordinator will schedule the team member’s calendar at least two weeks in advance. The RTSC will take into consideration the team member’s preferred days off as previously indicated. Generally, you will be scheduled to fulfill hours in the area you are assigned. There may be situations where you are needed outside of your home area.
-In this position, you would need to be able to cover a variety of shifts. While you would receive your schedule at least two weeks in advance, you may be covering a Live In Position one week, and then an Awake Overnight the next.
-After the completion of Orientation, the team member will be scheduled for a minimum of 35 hours each workweek except for the work week that they are on-call.
-The team member will be on-call for one workweek every five weeks. During this week, they will usually only be scheduled to work approximately 20 hours and will be required to fill in the remaining hours as needed by the supervisor on-call.
-The team member will be expected, and may be required, to work up to 20 hours of overtime during their on-call week, as needed.
