Hello! I am a nonbinary person living in Salem. I am 98% bedbound and I also have Complex PTSD, among other conditions. I am friendly and gentle, and I have a well-behaved cat.
I am looking for someone who is Covid-cautious, PTSD-informed, gentle, and good with details, feedback, and text-only communication. Speaking/listening is hard for me.
The main job tasks are housekeeping, meal prep, prompting (like "time for meds!"), and hands-on help with compression tights over underwear. There are also other potential job tasks that you can refuse.
Covid-cautious:
-Wear a mask in daily life in crowded spaces
-Be vaccinated
-Alert me if you’ve been in a high-risk situation like on a plane
PTSD-informed:
-Basic knowledge of what a trigger is
-Ready to avoid a list of 15-20 triggers with minimal mistakes
Other requirements:
-Receive feedback, remember it, and incorporate it
-Text promptly when you will be late
-Be ready to communicate well through text only
-Put items back in their spots
-Follow specific instructions carefully
You will start at 5 hours a week, you can choose which 1-2 mornings you would like to work, and you may be offered more hours in the future. You will not be the only caregiver. You do not need experience - I’m prepared to guide a first-time caregiver.
A note: I am approved for care through Comagine, so you will need to get the Personal Care Attendant certification. This process takes 1-3 months. Most of it is waiting for paperwork; there is also a 14-hour-total paid training for people who are not already certified as a HCW or PSW.
