Location: Salem, OR
Schedule: 8am-5pm, M-F
Pay Rate: 28.00-30.00/HR
Duration: 6 months with potential for permanent hire
Remote/Hybrid: After training, 2-3 days in office
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Compliance
Develop and update HR policies to align with state and federal laws.
Conduct research, analyze reports, and implement compliance measures.
Investigate workplace behavior and recommend solutions.
Training and Development
Design, implement, and evaluate employee training programs.
Coordinate with vendors for training services and monitor quality.
Maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
HR Support and Analytics
Handle employment verifications and advise managers on performance measures.
Prepare reports and decision documents using HR systems.
Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance HR efficiency.
Recruitment and Hiring
Manage job postings, application reviews, and candidate communications.
Develop recruitment timelines, ensure pay equity, and advise on interviewing strategies.
Coordinate recruitment events and maintain compliance with hiring policies.
Employee Records Management
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Process personnel actions and update organizational charts.
Ensure compliance with records retention policies.
Leave Coordination
Serve as backup FMLA/OFLA coordinator, including eligibility determination and tracking.
Collaborate with payroll to monitor benefits and leave hours.
Support employees with hardship leave requests and policies.
Team Collaboration and Inclusivity
Foster a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Promote teamwork and collaboration in achieving organizational goals.
Participate in initiatives supporting a diverse and harassment-free environment.
General Duties:
Perform assigned tasks with customer service and professionalism.
Engage in ongoing learning to stay updated on HR trends and compliance requirements.
Support other HR functions and initiatives as needed.
Education/Experience of Preference:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
o Human Resource Management
o Business or Public Administration
o Behavioral Sciences
o Organizational Development/Behavior
Plus: Four years of professional-level human resources experience relevant to the position.
OR a combination of education and experience:
Seven years of professional-level human resources experience relevant to the position.
