Are you tired of looking at a computer screen? Want some variety in your day? Check out this job for a Farm Driver and Farm worker! Your duties would include:
- Driving an 18-foot Isuzu truck to Portland 3-4 times/week.
- Performing all deliveries and pickups throughout Portland area
- Keeping delivery vehicle clean
- Operate or learn how to operate a pallet jack
- Be able to drive a tractor and other farm equipment
- Be the lead person on set-up, planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding and harvesting high tunnels
- Learn how to project crops ready for harvest
- Help manage greenhouse operations year-round
- Spray crops when necessary
- Help distribute beneficial insects and nematodes
- Be the safety committee chairperson
- Follow and supervise food safety and farm safety practices
- Help maintain all farm records: actions, harvest, and food safety
- Help maintain farm infrastructure: mowing, weed-eating, cleaning, etc.
- Keep all growing and packing areas as clean as possible
- Assist with packing produce and cleaning work areas and equipment, when needed
- Work 30-45 hours/week. (more in spring-fall, less in winter) Must be available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, usually mornings. Other hours are flexible
