Lead Timber Framing Carpenter

Pay Range: $30-$35 Hourly

We’re looking for a Lead Timber Framing Carpenter to join our passionate and creative team in McMinnville, OR. We take traditional heavy timber framing to the next level by utilizing time honored joinery techniques combined with the latest in computerized CNC machining. The ideal candidate would be a natural leader, have an outstanding work ethic and a knowledge of home construction. Our work requires precision, care and attention to detail but prior knowledge of timber framing is not required. In this position you’ll enjoy a combination of time in the workshop (80%) and regional out of town travel (20%) to job sites where you’ll be able to assemble and raise the timbers you just fabricated. Timber Framing is a team activity and requires working shoulder to shoulder with other craftspeople both beginner and expert. Our clients are often left breathless once a frame is raised and think of our people as heroes… This is why internally we call the lead installer “The Timber Frame Champion”.

Required Experience:

· 5 years construction experience as a lead is essential.

· Traveling with crew to lead assembly and installation of timber frames.

· Ability to run job site equipment like telehandlers and various machinery

· Jobsite safety to include working on elevated surfaces, tying off, etc.

· Working with traditional hand tools (chisel, mallets, etc.) and power tools (skill saw, belt sander, power drill, etc.).

· Time spent leading, teaching and showing others the finer points of craft.

Preferred Experience:

· Experience in residential and commercial construction.

· Seasoned Carpenter, Framer or woodworking experience.

· Ability to use portable and stationary power tools with confidence.

· Familiarity or aptitude with CNC and CAD.

· Ability to see the big picture and be a problem-solving master.

The base salary range for this position is $30 - $35 Hourly.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
