Position available: ODOT Certified Flagger

Our team is actively looking for hardworking and observant candidates to join our team as a Certified Flagger on a full time basis. As a Flagger, you are responsible for directing vehicles around the construction sites and road work. You will also be responsible for placing barricades, signs, and traffic cones. To succeed in this job role, you should be able to stand for a long period of time as well as hold a stop/slow paddle up right. A+ Flagging offers a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors in fast paced dynamic environments. We are looking for people that are self-motivated, dependable, able to think fast, and make decisions in support of traffic control and safety measures in and around the work site. Responsibilities

Maintaining the flow of traffic.

Closing the lanes in case of emergency and maintenance work.

Directing the vehicles when required.

Setting up traffic cones and signs around the work site.

Answering questions from the public/drivers about the detours.

Ability to communicate with team members through radios.

Communicating with construction workers and contractors.

Use hand signals to communicate with and direct traffic.

Continuous contact and communication with Leads while on the job.

Reliable transportation for traveling to job sites and back.

Adhering to the rules and regulations of A+ Flagging, Inc.

Requirements

Be a certified flagger within the State of Oregon OR sign up to be certified through our classes at our office.

A reliable source of transportation.

Knowledge of safety and traffic control devices.

Ability to lift and carry objects 1 lbs-40 lbs.

Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.

Strong knowledge and understanding of traffic rules.

Ability to solve problems quickly.

Proficiency in non-verbal communication such as hand signals, signs, and others.

Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Must be able to pass a UA, including marijuana.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
