Sheet Metal Fabricator:
Entry Level
Employment Type: Part Time & Full Time
10-hour shift
Days: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Tuesday - Friday
Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00/Hr. DOE
Reporting To: Shop Supervisor
Qualifications:
Must be able to perform duties associated with sheet metal fabrication. Assist the Supervisor in improving working conditions (safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity) on the shop floor.
Position Summary:
A Fabricator works various steel or aluminum parts and components through many functions on the fabrication shop floor. This position is responsible for the daily operations to achieve production goals. The position requires the ability to work with your hands and think on your feet, and a familiarity with sheet-metal fabrication processes is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Consistently produce parts according to blueprint specifications.
Read and understand job process notes.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to lift 5 to 10 lbs. continuously and rarely up to 35 lbs. Over 35 lbs. require
assistance.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and safe.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills -
Computer skills for downloading and uploading programs.
Able to speak, read, and write in English.
Organizational / cleanliness.
Basic math skills.
Accurate counting of parts and inventory items.
The ability to conceptualize 2D drawings into 3D objects to read and understand prints is an advantage.
Education –
No previous sheet metal experience is required.
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience –
2 to 3 years minimum experience in a similar manufacturing field is desired
Must follow directions verbally and in writing and work well in a team environment.
