Hiring Donor Development Director For Non-Profit Organization

The Donor Development Director is responsible for the management of the daily workflow to meet donor development goals. This position requires an experienced individual with strong leadership skills, as well as a public relations/fund development background. This director must be able to assist the team in leading change and promoting a positive team attitude as well as being able to respond to unexpected changes or demands effectively. The Director will be primarily responsible for evaluating and nurturing our donor support base, soliciting and stewarding major gifts, and driving engagement in donor relations to grow our support base and philanthropic revenue. This role will oversee, implement, and manage systems for donor tracking and management - identifying and qualifying prospects, cultivating and soliciting gifts, acknowledgment, and stewardship.

Position Type: Salary, Non-Exempt, 45+ hours weekly - Will vary and include nights, weekends, and travel as scheduled

Wage: Annualized Salary of $50,400 (paid bi-weekly on Friday, $1938.46).

General Requirements:

-High school diploma/GED required

-Preference given to applicants with college degrees in related fields.

-In-person position, must be able to work in a busy office environment.

-Must have the ability for a flexible schedule including nights and weeks as assigned for events and other functions.

-Must be at least 18 years old when employment begins.

-Pass a State/Federal Criminal History Check.

-Background screening including employment and education history.

-Pre-employment drug screening (for the use of illegal substances in Oregon).

-Valid ODL with an insurable driving record.

-Be able to be certified and maintain certification with First Aid/CPR.

Job-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

-Extraordinary interpersonal communication skills and ability to empathize with people/families.

-Ability to communicate and interact with different personalities to further the understanding and support of PCL’s mission.

-Play a pivotal role in the coordination of internal and external events as assigned, including community-based fundraising events, and all event needs.

-Grant research, opportunities, submissions, and reporting.

-Retain current donors and expand the donor base.

-Create and implement solid ideas for strategies and opportunities that generate donor and community engagement.

-Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.

-Project Management for donor relations and events from conception, implementation, tracking, wrap-up, and reporting.

-Engage with community and stakeholders and public speaking duties.
