Full-Time 36-40 hours/week

$22 to $32/Hr+

Reports to: Neighborhood Family Council Initiative Director

About the Role:

The Lead Neighbor Connector supports families and the Neighborhood Family Councils (NFC) in Salem & Keizer by advocating for the family’s hopes and dreams. Someone successful in this role will thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting events and facilitating important conversations. You must have a passion for people and raising up the voices of those who are often not heard. The Neighborhood Family Councils (NFCs) are self-organized, volunteer groups of neighborhood residents who band together to build neighborhood resilience that strengthens families and supports world-class education for everyone living in their neighborhood by promoting the Strengthening Families Protective Factors in their homes and neighborhood.

This position requires flexible availability to attend in-person and virtual gatherings. These events are more often in-person and can vary on time and day of the week.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide administrative support to help ensure the success of NFC meetings, community café meetings, and NFC-approved activities.

2. Provide one-to-one, small group, and other forms of outreach to help strengthen existing NFCs and launch new NFCs.

3. Lead facilitator of community café engagement, meeting process, and follow-up.

4. Connect local NFC neighborhood residents with tangible support in times of need.

5. Connecting with the community to invite families to attend events, meetings, and trainings.

6. Complete training to practice and promote an Outward Mindset.

7. Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by the Neighborhood Family Council Initiative Director.

Qualifications & Desired Traits:

1. Experience working with diverse members of your community, especially families and children of various racial and ethnic backgrounds required

2. Flexible schedule required (including evenings + weekends as needed for events and meetings)

3. Bilingual – Spanish & English – fluent written & speaking required

4. Outward Mindset Philosophy – in purpose and practice – seeing other people’s needs, dreams, and problems as important as your own required

5. Group conversation facilitation experience required

6. Computer experience required

7. Event coordination experience preferred

8. Grassroots organizing experience preferred

9. Desire to grow and learn
