The Inventory Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and overall integrity of our nursery stock database. This person works closely with our production, shipping, and sales teams to track plant availability, monitor crop readiness, and ensure smooth inventory flow from farm to customer.
Loen Nursery is a wholesale grower and supplier of premium nursery stock, serving contractors, garden centers, and re-wholesalers throughout the U.S. and Canada. With multiple growing locations across Oregon, we are known for our diverse selection and exceptional quality. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to help manage our plant inventory across farms and ensure accurate, up-to-date records for our sales and operations teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct regular physical inventory counts and spot checks across multiple growing locations
Assist biannual full inventory counts across all farm locations (Jan 1st and July 1st)
Track availability, readiness stages, and crop quality across all plant categories
Enter and update inventory data into our system (SAGE) accurately and timely
Reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and database records
Generate inventory reports for management, sales, and marketing teams
Collaborate with shipping, production, and growing teams for accurate labeling and availability
Identify and flag slow-moving, deadstock, or unmarketable inventory
Coordinate with IT or admin to ensure Shopify/SAGE data uploads are clean and current
Tagging and labeling organization – maintain visual systems on site
Support special inventory projects, such as product reviews, SKU cleanup, and readiness audits
Maintain photo and availability documentation to support sales and marketing
Skills & Qualifications:
Prior inventory, logistics, or nursery experience preferred
Knowledge of nursery plants or willingness to learn quickly
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable with spreadsheets, data entry, and inventory management software (SAGE, Excel)
Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions and across large growing areas
Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Valid driver’s license (travel between sites may be required)
Spanish/English bilingual is a plus
