We need a G-Code Wizard to join our mission of reviving a portable sawmill manufacturing brand that has been described as "an American icon" We have a deeply loyal, invested fan base who want to see us succeed in manufacturing the portable circular sawmills again.
We are SO CLOSE. But the mystery of the CNC machines we have purchased and are set up is our last great hurdle to restarting production.
Our machines are early 90s OKUMA CNC mill and lathe with live tooling. They have floppy drives.
Requirements require:
- CAD/CAM software experience - whatever is necessary to get the appropriate G-code program into the machine
- put program onto floppy disc
- get data from floppy into machine
- understand OSP5000 and OSP5020
- check program so as not to crash machines
- advise us on tooling and part clamping
- don't crash the machines
- program all the parts so that we can do the tedious production part of pushing buttons.
Our shop is located in Brooks, OR. Some work can be done from home, but because we do not have the bandwidth to spend a lot of time on video call to be walked thru the steps, it might be best if you are available in person.
This is a temporary position, BUT for the right person we will gladly hire them full time.
This is a 1099 contract job. If you've never done this before, I can walk you thru the steps of being self-employed.
Other perks include: I feed everyone a delicious, nutritious lunch every day and we all eat together.
