Microwave Technician
Looking for Microwave Technicians also in Salem, Portland Oregon and Kent, Washington
Position Description:
Test of low quantity high end microwave switch assemblies. Perform basic to complex level troubleshooting on RF and Microwave systems. Read schematics and engineering drawings. Primary responsibility is to test and on occasion to troubleshoot issues related bad VSWR and Insertion Loss. Following test procedures and preparing raw data for submission to customers.
Responsibilities:
Sets-up and test of microwave assemblies.
Uses Vector Network Analyzer and Spectrum Analyzer to perform the necessary steps of the ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures).
Upgrades FW and load personality files into various microwave assemblies.
Performs Full 2-Port calibrations of the Vector Network Analyzer.
Perform troubleshooting steps to identify components or cables that impact VSWR and IL performance.
Safeguards the mechanical integrity of the physically sensitive interface connectors and calibration standards.
Keeps work area neat and orderly, 6S.
Knowledge of AMETEK workmanship standards.
Perform related duties as assigned, including supporting engineering with testing and designing as needed.

High school diploma; Electronic Technician Certificate; AS Degree in Electronic Engineering
2 years in a related field, preferable manufacturing
Experience with microwave test to 18GHz is a must
Experience with microwave test to 40GHz is a strong plus
Basic understanding of digital and analog circuitry
Skilled use of Network and Spectrum Analyzers
Use of other test equipment (DMM, DVM, Distortion Analyzer, OScope, Function Generator, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot to component level
Read and understand engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), schematics and diagrams, basic math, ohms law.
Understand and apply ECOs and Deviations from Engineering.
Able to lift up too 75lbs
