Active involvement with applicants/new hires, from time of interview until they are on-boarded.
DPSST academy registrations and certification tracking and processing for sworn members.
Management of confidential personnel records, including backgrounds, medical and psychological evaluations of current and former staff members, and all applicants.
Coordination of swearing-in ceremonies for new officers, promotional events and retirement events.
Coordination and processing of alarm permits.
Tracking and maintaining confidential documents and communications.
Developing and producing professional level correspondence that represents the Department and Chief of Police.
Attends all required meetings, and ensured accurate minutes are taken
Minimum QualificationsAny combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework or specialized training in business or secretarial science AND
Five (5) years of administrative assistant, executive assistant, office management, or related experience or two (2) years of experience equivalent to Senior Administrative Specialist at the City of Tigard.
Supplemental InformationUnion Representation: not applicable for this job Schedule: This position is 40 hours per week (4 days per week/10 hour days OR 8 hours/5 days a week. This is an on-site position only. Compensation: The hourly range for this overtime eligible position is $28.89-$37.77 per hour. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the City’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $33.99 per hour.
