At Pinebrook Family Answers, you will find meaningful work and a deep commitment to the well-being of our clients, staff, and communities.WHAT You'll Do as an Instructor in the ALPHA Program:
Attend a variety of essential trainings including Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Competency, and Trauma-Informed Care.
Facilitate programming as scheduled in our Allentown location, including prep for lessons, track assignments and attendance, schedule guest speakers, plan graduations, etc. You will regularly teach in a group/classroom-like setting but could also facilitate individually or virtually to meet client and facility needs.
Teach and support students in preparing for the GED exam, covering all subject areas including Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.
Coordinate Credit Recovery Services for appropriate youth, identifying what credits are needed, enrollment in appropriate classes, and provide support to successfully complete the course.
Facilitate Career Exploration & Employment Readiness Classes. Guide student through discovering their interests, strengths, and potential career paths. Equip youth with essential job readiness skills, such as resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace etiquette.
Provide information about, and make referrals to, other needed services/resources as needed such as substance abuse, mental health, employment, etc.
Facilitate shoplifting prevention classes for adults and juveniles, utilizing a curriculum which involves engaging participants in informative sessions aimed at educating participants about the consequences of shoplifting and providing strategies to prevent it.
Complete required documentation, including progress notes, outcome data, attendance, program satisfaction, etc.
Work collaboratively with probation officers, case managers, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
Participate in individual and group supervision, Forensic Department meetings, staff meetings, Pinebrook's continuous quality improvement program, and other service, quality, and advocacy activities.

ABachelor's degreefrom an accredited college or university in an Education related field
A PA teaching certificate is preferred, but not required
Strong understanding of the GED curriculum and testing process.
Experience in teaching or tutoring, preferably with at-risk youth aged 15-19.
Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Optimism, empathy, and sensitivity to cultural and other differences amongst colleagues and clients
