In this role, you will oversee a team engaged in the operation of heavy construction machinery and the use of hand tools for various highway maintenance tasks. These tasks include repairing cracks and potholes, stabilizing and maintaining road shoulders, installing and cleaning drainage systems, setting up guide rails, sweeping roadways, collecting litter, widening roads, addressing complaints, and coordinating emergency responses to snow, ice, storm damage, or vehicular incidents. Additionally, you will ensure that highway-related complaints are handled promptly and appropriately, while also planning for materials, traffic control, equipment availability, and staffing. You will assess the skill levels of subordinate staff and provide recommendations for necessary training and opportunities to enhance overall performance.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Overtime, shift-work, and travel may be required for emergencies, training, and specialized maintenance operations. Dual-shifts required for snow removal operations.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1; or

Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.
