We are currently seeking a Sr. Business Development Manager site in Allentown, PA.What you will do:

The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities / applications / market segments (such as specialty coatings) within the North American region for existing VINNAPAS products, and/or developmental VINNAPAS products. This role will also Implement and execute an ideation process for assessing and developing potential new opportunities, while coordinating with global WACKER Business Development team to gain alignment and shared resources to pursue opportunities identified. In addition, the Business Development Manager II will take input from technical experts/scouts or external consultants and use these inputs to identify and vet opportunities within current markets, as well as work in a highly ambiguous environment. Lastly, this role will lead and assist in creating demand and recruiting potential new customers, work independently and with limited supervision to plan and accomplish goals, and identify and develop strategic relationships with future customers, trade organizations, authority management, etc.Leads/Supports new product development, introduction, and commercialization process of projects; 30%.

Identifies/develops/wins new and profitable positions for the BT, that could include supply chain decisions, acquisitions, JV's and investments; 20%.

Creates business plans for selected projects and external partnerships and/or alliances; 15%.

Provides regular updates and reports; 10%.

Participates in appropriate trade associations.; 10%.

Develops, managers and mentors BD team.; 10%.

Networks with global business colleagues.; 10%What we need from you:

Bachelor's degree preferably with a technical discipline.; Master's or PhD a plus.

10+ years relevant experience with 5+ years' experience in the specialty chemical industry in Americas and 5+ years' experience in business/market/technical development.

Global work experience

Proven record of successful project management

Demonstration of proven leadership skills

Business development for construction polymers including market research, opportunity identification, and strategy development and implementation for growth in new business areas (existing and new product).

Knowledge to identify and create new, profitable business (understands the value chain, pilot customers, and commercialization).

Knowledge to create business plans for new development projects and provides regular updates on project status.

Ability to design technical feasibility work and leads technical projects to support business development strategies.

Strong skills to communicate / network with global business colleagues.

Actively participate in industry associations and committees.

Ability to visit prospective customers in the US/Canadian region; travel up to 50% (includes international travel).

Ability to lead product / solutions introduction and commercialization.

Ability to work in close cooperation with marketing, technical managers, sales managers, and BT management.

Understands the value chain, pilot customers, and commercialization process.

Construction market knowledge and experience.

Self-motivated

Strong communication skills
