Staff ICE6/7 Debug Engineer Allentown, PA Responsible for root cause analysis of optical line card failures This is a high-tech position in a state-of-the-art optical networking company. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a cross functional team of manufacturing, development, field service, reliability, and software engineers to solve complex problems. Daily responsibilities to include:

Daily monitoring of production failures

Leading Debug team to root cause on failures

Report failure trends and open/closed cases on a weekly basis.

Feed failure data back to internal design team and champion design changes when needed Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Electrical Debug of a complex PCBA based product.

FMA of Electrical / Optical hardware in a manufacturing environment

Experience with hardware testing and PCBA troubleshooting.

Experience with database queries and statistical analysis.

Process Improvement / Engineering

Create product troubleshooting guides.

Support failure analysis and root cause identification and corrective action implementation of components, sub-systems, and field failures.

Author technical reports.

Lead other debug engineers and technicians in key projects.

Collaborate with customer service to help resolve customer issues. Education / Experience

BS in Engineering Electrical or other technical degrees considered.

Minimum of 5 years' experience debugging electrical circuits. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong analytical/critical thinking skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Excellent oral and written communication and people skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities.

Passion to learn.

Experience in Opto / Optical environment a plus!

Test engineering experience a plus!

Interface with product design teams in the development process to provide early product DVT (Design Validation Test) and production test fixture designs. Communicate across the product development, new product introduction and production groups to ensure that the delivered mechanical test fixture designs satisfy customer needs while meeting schedule requirements. Help create mechanical design concepts using CREO CAD (Computer Aided Design) tool and make mechanical CAD Drawings for outside vendors to fabricate the test fixtures. Use machining process and tolerances to provide designs that are in-line with tooling and fabrication supplier capabilities. Perform initial setup and adjustment of test fixture prototypes and instruct engineers and technicians to setup replicates and maintain functionality.
