Bangor PA (Lehigh Valley):
Local nonprofit cat rescue seeking per diem vet techs to work in our low-cost, high volume spay and neuter clinic on a per diem basis. Days of operation per month will vary but typically we are hosting one clinic per week. We are passionate about helping cats live better lives though spay and neuter!
Experience
We prefer Candidates to have prior experience as a vet tech but new grads of a vet tech program with no experience are welcomed to apply.
Certification not required.
Comfortable with a fast pace setting, seeing a large volume of cats.
Comfortable with a long workday (8 to 10 hours.)
Passionate about helping the cats in the community.
1099 employee.
Duties:
Pre-Op Tech:
pre-operative technicians are responsible for handling the preoperative drugs, drug logging, sedating and preparing the cats prior to surgery. This will include sedating cats in traps and carriers through doors. Other duties as needed.
Post-Op Tech:
post-operative technicians are responsible for monitoring cats after surgery, administering vaccines, microchips, and doing blood draws when necessary. Ear tipping of feral cats also required. Other duties as needed.
Starting at $18-20/hr DOE.
If you are experienced with High Volume Spay and Neutertravel compensation may be available.
