Job DescriptionWe are currently hiring an Automation Engineering Co-Op at our Samuel Adams Pennsylvania Brewery in Breinigsville, PA. This position is from January-June 2025.This position will provide controls support for capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Projects may range from capital project implementation, programming auditing, electrical/programming documentation and instrumentation specification.What You'll Brew:Support capital projects at the Pennsylvania brewery as needed. Projects will require creation and maintenance of documentation (drawings, programs, specifications, etc.), support during start-up, and specification of instrumentation.
Support of brewing and/or packaging continuous improvement initiatives. This includes learning, comprehending, documenting, and improving process and machine controls to maximize throughput and minimize downtime. Programming improvements will be implemented by working with a mentor.
Work with brewing and packaging operations to recognize improvement ideas and initiate improvement plans.
Develop a deep understanding of brewing and/or packaging in larger scale breweries. Candidate must be hands-on and willing to get intimately involved in processing details.
Responsible for project work on an as needed basis by Sr. Automation Engineer.
Interface with brewing controls engineers, instrumentation engineers, and packaging reliability engineers.What Ingredients You'll Bring:Minimum Qualifications:Must be enrolled in B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Engineering Technology.
Interest in brewing and production; No prior experience necessary.
Proven ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to make knowledgeable, quick decisions in a fast- paced environment.
This position may require evening and weekend hours
Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States, now or in the futurePreferred QualificationsBrewing and/or production experience a plus.
PLC Programming a plus.
Knowledge of Brewery operations preferred.Some Perks:
