Let's make an impact together.Position Overview:The Integrated Data Repository Operations and Maintenance (IDR O&M) team has an opportunity for an Analyst. This position requires the individual to to apply business acumen and analysis skills to leverage the IDR's vast data capabilities to assist end users in analyzing issues and promote understanding of today's complex healthcare environment.This position is for the CIO-SP3 Contract supporting the Integrated Data Repository Operations & Maintenance task order. The mission of this contract is to support CMS in efforts to maintain the Integrated Data Repository.The IDR is the centerpiece of CMS Enterprise Data Warehouse strategy and responds to the agency's critical need to have an integrated data environment that contains Medicare and Medicaid claims as well as beneficiary, provider, and health plan data in support of data analytics. The IDR is the largest government Teradata database in the world it is currently a one Petabyte Teradata system complimented by a two petabyte Hadoop system with 667 usable terabytes serving over 2,500 users.Job Tasks:

Develops SQL queries to analyze data

Creates special reports for clients using SQL

Executes data validation processes to assure quality data has been loaded into the IDR

Develops recommendations to address problems found with the quality of the data currently loaded into the IDR

Supports enhancements to the IDR by analyzing new data, identifying data mappings, developing requirements and testing changes

Applies subject matter knowledge to solve data issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate actions

Works on Change requests, trouble tickets and Service Requests of diverse complexity and scope

Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution;

Seeks advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues;

Works with CMS stakeholders to review the quality of the data moving into and out of the IDR;

Applies business knowledge of IDR data in resolving issues.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder who has lived in the US 3 out of the past 5 yearso At least 2 years of experience working in a large enterprise data warehouse - peta byte or larger data bases is a pluso At least 2 years of SQL experience Ability to create complex joins and use proper query structure to ensure correct utilization of resources.o At least 4 years of experience identifying and creating business requirementso Experience recommending business solutions based on data findingso Experience applying a business perspective with the datao Experience understanding of the business content of data itemso Prior experience supporting Healthcare business -Medicare and/or Medicaid systems experience a pluso Experience using critical thinking skills to analyze business problems and recommend possible solutionso Experience researching independentlyo Experience collaborating and coordinating projects with other contract Government resourceso Experience testing data warehouse changes by identifying, documenting, and executing functional test cases to ensure business requirements are meto Experience with ALM a pluso Knowledge of Agile concepts and experience working in Agile environment a plus - JIRA/Confluence knowledge beneficialo Experience in Hadoop a pluso Experience in Teradata a pluso Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plusAbout PerspectaWhat matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
