Job Summary
The IT Specialist manages and integrates the organization's networks in a multiple platform and operating systems environment. The Specialist overseas all of the company's IT infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluates, designs and maintains database systems in a client/server environment.
Works with user to analyze requirements and defines specifications for database access, structure, and functional capabilities.
Performs validation checks, maintains database dictionaries and coordinates installation of new and revised database systems.
Manage active users and permissions within network, including onboarding and offboarding.
Monitors hardware to guarantee optimum performance.
Maintains software for operating systems, compilers, networks, databases and internet tools.
Maintains corporate Intranet performing updates as required.
Researches and develops specifications for hardware procurement based on user requirements.
Manages and integrates the organization's networks in a multiple platform and remote environments.
Research vendor products and recommends purchase, development or enhancement of hardware/software that will improve the reliability and
performance of system.
Establishes systems performance standards, policies and procedures.
Manages the Disaster Recovery process guaranteeing that all systems can be brought back in the event of a disaster.
Maintains and upgrades the corporate anti-virus environment and manages the deployment of virus definitions and makes sure that all nodes
are up to date.
Maintains all printing devices.
Responds during off hours to maximize system uptime and to reduce user inconvenience.
Maintain working relationship with current IT consultant/vendor.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge
Solid foundation in Windows Server 2008 administration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Access required; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Solidworks preferred.
Experienced in the repair of PC and server hardware and peripheral devices.
Ability to communicate with end users regarding support related issues and problems in a clear, concise and professional manner.
Knowledge of SOX and PCI CSS compliance preferred.
Experience in administering Microsoft Server, Active Directory System, backup systems, Microsoft Windows Professional, database applications
and CAD systems preferred.
Education
BS in Computer Science or equivalent in experience.
