This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Manage project operations and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure equipment. Review engineering drawings, proposals and projects of overall objectives to ensure cost feasibility. Assist estimators and shop personnel in the optimization of industrial operations. Provide technical information in understanding complex engineering drawings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Applicants MUST meet specialized experience to qualify. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing conceptual facility designs for review and approval; 2) ensuring the continuous operation of facilities involving the installation/repair of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, and control systems; AND 3) writing scopes of work for engineering or construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). - However, there is no one-graded interval of this series position in the normal line of progression of this organization. Note- This position will be accepting specialized experience at the second lower level of GS-09 grade level for in service applicants. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
