Welcome patients with a warm greeting to ensure a positive first impression and facilitate a smooth check-in experience.

Guide patients through the use of self-arrival technology or assist with manual check-in at the desk, accommodating patient preferences for efficient service.

Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.

Confirm and update patient registration information during checkout, ensuring that all personal and insurance details are accurate and current.

Schedule follow-up appointments for patients within the practice at checkout, promoting continuity of care and improving patient outcomes.

Connect patients to resources for scheduling ancillary services during checkout, ensuring comprehensive care across departments.

Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities and connect them to financial advocacy resources when appropriate.

Promote the MyUPMC patient portal, assist patients in registering, and provide guidance on using new technologies to enhance their care experience.

Required

Completion of high school graduate or equivalent

Preferred

Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills

Two years of experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function

Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems
