Position Overview/Primary Function:Perform various assignments and related office administrative/technical duties within a highly technical engineering environment. Must prepare and process technical documents following standard work procedures. Additional job duties for this position reflect the specific nature of the department involved. Ability to apply acceptable computer skills in at least two software packages over and above word processing is required.WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required.
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR TYPICAL JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.Assist in the identification and analysis of problems associated with preparation, review, formatting, and transmittal of documents, drawings, and/or calculation notes.
Monitor schedules and follow-up with responsible personnel to ensure documents are generated on time.
Generate reports and distribute information, results, and basic analyses to appropriate personnel.
Maintain working knowledge of procedures.
Compile, prepare and input data into various systems.
Assist lower-classified personnel with search and retrieval of information.SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:Frequent interaction with internal contacts. Occasional interaction with external contacts, customers and/or vendors.DIRECTION OF OTHERS:Explain work assignments to lower classified personnel.DIRECTION RECEIVED:Receive specific instructions on new or special work from manager and occasional guidance from higher classified personnel, including engineers, adminstrative personnel, etc.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:High school graduate or the equivalent, plus completion of 60 college credits from an accredited institution.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:No amount of experience will be permitted to substitute for the required education.
Four years related experience in the area of specialization with 2 years as a Code 9.
Must be able to type 40 wpm.
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products as determined by departmental need.Why Westinghouse?
