GENERAL SUMMARY:

Customer Finance representative for a broad range of the customers (excluding the largest customers). Responsible for Accounts Receivable deduction investigation and resolution, returns/markdown analysis, and monitoring of trade spending. Assists Sales Representatives with analysis of customer profitability statements. Identifies opportunities for business efficiency and process improvement. Assists with ad hoc department projects as requested.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as Finance primary point of contact on all shortage deduction inquiries. Serve as internal subject matter expert of shortage deduction processes.

Evaluate the validity of customer A/R deductions using reporting & analysis, interpretation of customer backup, discussions with Sales Representatives, and knowledge of common Crayola business practices. Prepare documentation sufficient to explain rationale for disputing invalid deductions. Employ good judgment in countering customer arguments/claims for funds.

Handle resolution of valid deductions in a timely manner via credit memo or approved write-off. Authorize product returns/markdown requests in compliance with policy and in a manner that is most profitable to Crayola taking into consideration inventory status and customer history.

Work with Sales Representatives on analysis and explanation of customer profitability statements. Identify profitability trends and call out risks and opportunities to Sales counterparts.

Work cross-functionally with key internal and external partners (Buyers, Accounts Payable, Brokers, EDI, Sales, etc) to create process improvements leading to a reduction of claims.

Assist Sales and internal associates with the review of customer metrics (including invoice match rate, fill rate, on-time delivery, etc) that will identify areas of efficiencies for both the customer and Crayola.

Assist with customer presentations, account planning, and POG as requested by analysts and Manager

Ensure that trade plans are not overspent. Monitor vendor agreements and programming offered to ensure they are affordable within plan guidelines

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Associates with an emphasis in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred and/or minimum 3 years' experience handling customer claims.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cross functionally, influence others, reach consensus, and implement solutions to problems.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Basic knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.

Knowledge of SAP accounts receivable and dispute management modules preferred.
