Job Title: Senior BuyerJob DescriptionJob Summary: Responsible for purchasing key materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures, while optimizing price, delivery, and terms.Essential Functions: Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to accomplish material cost, availability, and inventory goals. Track trends in the industry, with key competitors, noted high-performing companies, and the worldwide economy, understanding their impact on and relevance to the business. Identify key barriers/core problems and apply problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. Make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results. Analyze, understand, and convert MRP messages to raw material purchase orders and plans to meet production/forecast demand (including move-in and move-out reports). Identify and drive process improvements to reduce lead time and inventory levels and improve supplier on-time delivery. Maintain purchase part inventory by verifying quantities, and understanding production schedules, and technical/part requirements. Maintain item master integrity by updating supplier lead times, verification of safety stock levels, EOQs, etc. Purchase supplies, materials, and office supplies/equipment by preparing and submitting purchase orders following department procedures and limits of authority. Maintain purchasing records to include: PO retention and related documents. Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality problems with suppliers. Monitor the status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of all future problems. Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on material/supplier lead times and market conditions. Manage material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development or ECO changes. Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternate supply options. Maintain department workflow by filling in for other positions as needed. Assist with cycle counting and yearly physical inventory. Special projects/responsibilities as assigned.Hard Skills
4-year degree in Supply Chain or Business with 4 years of experience, OR 6 years of equivalent experience
Experience using ERP systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to coordinate supplier meetings to conduct Business Reviews

This person will work with the supply chain team and other buyers consisting of a team size of about 8-10 people. The hours are M-F 8-5pm fully onsite. This person will interact with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing and Engineering.
