Actively participates in department-specific quality improvement initiatives and identifies opportunities for enhancement. Experience: 0-2 years of nursing experience required. BSN required.
Skills: Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with executives, managers, physicians, providers, staff, and patients/families. Must be able to work productively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and specialized equipment. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning. Mobility and visual/manual dexterity required. Physical stamina necessary.
Work Shifts: UPMC offers flexible shift options, including night or weekend shifts with a premium pay differential. Employees with at least 6 months of nursing experience can qualify for these programs.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of employment or a state covered by a compact agreement.
CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
ACLS required within 1 year of hire or transfer.
NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
Act 34 clearance required.
