Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a QA Technician to work from our manufacturing facility located in Hanover, PA. The required shift is Friday-Sunday 6PM-6AM.
The QA Technician Performs all in process and finished product quality control tests at assigned plant location and keeps appropriate management personnel informed of quality issues
General Position Responsibilities:
Routine Quality Assurance Testing; Product Sample Collection; Physical property testing; Sensory evaluation.
Logging test results in an Excel spread sheet, RedZone or other computer-based format.
Assist in sampling and documenting Environmental Monitoring Program.
Support Research and Development with special testing and sample collection.
Must be able to adhere to a specific frequency of product testing. This test schedule can vary pending specific quality issues that may arise.
Monitor quality specifications of finished products manufactured by outside co-packers.
Maintain an ongoing log of incoming raw materials identifying supplier, product identification, date received, supplier lot number, and quantity and in-house test results. Ingredient suppliers and lot numbers shall be recorded on appropriate daily Q.C. finished product inspection forms.
Follow safety guidelines and meet OSHA safety requirements.
Promote and maintain open honest communication and cooperation with all employees.
Responsible for basic maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
Work with all plant departments to ensure a high quality, food safe product.
Support Food Safety systems and set example for GMP compliance.
Ability to read and comprehend daily QA spread sheets, data documents.
Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
Good working knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics.
Must be safety conscious and accurate in working in lab environment during the preparation of chemical solutions and test samples.
Mechanical aptitude/knowledge helpful.
Good organizational and communication skills required; must be able to work with all levels of associates.
Basic computer skills helpful for inputting and summarizing quality control data

As a Janitor this candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the restrooms, offices, and common areas throughout the Weekend Day Shift. This position works Friday-Sunday 6:00AM - 6:00PM.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and replenish supplies for the office & production area restrooms and locker rooms throughout the shift.
Fills paper and soap dispensers.
Empties garbage cans from various locations in Plant 3.
Cleans and organizes cafeteria.
Collects recyclable cans, paper and glass.
Cleans Quiet Area as needed.
Cleans refrigerators as needed.
Vacuum rugs throughout facility and pedestrian bridge.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Responsible to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times.
Responsible to report unsafe equipment and practices to supervisor.
Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Able to lift up to 50lbs.
Able to work independently and meet required deadlines.
Able to work with cleaning chemicals.
Able to bend, stoop, and squat regularly throughout the shift.
Able to commit to working weekends without issue.

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a team atmosphere while responsible for their individual station. This position will be required to work from Friday - Sunday 5:55AM - 5:55PM.
Key Responsibilities
Packs bags of chips into boxes.
Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any changes.
Checks weight of package; verifies code dates and price; examines package for proper seal.
Removes brown, green, and uncooked chips after chips leave the fryer.
Places box, cans, or specialty container onto skids.
Prepares items when \"extra.\"
Lines cans and caddies; labels boxes; rework items.
Gives breaks and lunches.
Assists as back-up Quality Assurance Technician as needed.
Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

As a Logistics Loader/Warehouse Person this candidate receives shipping manifest and pulls product in proper rotation order while maximizing cube of trailer.This position works Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5:18 AM - 5:18 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Unload conveyor and put product into appropriate storage rows and scan into inventory.
Unload inbound trailers with purchased products and put into inventory.
Perform physical inventories, as requested.
Must have the ability to obtain and hold a forklift license.
Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
Stack empty pallets and product and place on conveyor.
Unload product and scan into inventory putting product in proper place.
Load trailers with finished product for distributors and distribution centers; accuracy is critical.
Must be able to read load sheets to determine quantity and location of each skid that needs loaded.
Must be able to maintain integrity of rows and stands of product when pulling from inventory and/or unloading from conveyor.
Pull product orders and load on conveyor.
Requires the ability to work proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
Other duties assigned by supervisor

Knowledge of types and locations of products and truck loading procedures acquired through on the job training.
Requires forklift operator\'s license.
