THE POSITION

Are you passionate about ensuring that eligible workers receive the compensatory benefits they need, regardless of their employer's actions? The Bureau of Workers' Compensation's (BWC) is seeking a candidate like you to join our team as an Administrative Officer 3 and manage the Uninsured Employers Guaranty Fund (UEGF). We pay wage losses and medical expenses associated with workers' compensation claims against uninsured employers. Help provide excellent service to Pennsylvania's workers with our team!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will manage UEGF by overseeing and reviewing the work of claims handling staff and third-party administrators and perform related supervisory responsibilities. Work involves initiating and coordinating actions to reduce or eliminate claims liability, negotiating and authorizing settlements, and initiating and authorizing UEGF recovery activities. You will also determine staff goals and performance standards, regularly confer with the BWC Director regarding department matters, and work closely with compliance and collections staff, Commonwealth attorneys, and others regarding settlements, resolutions, litigation, recovery, and related items. Effective leadership skills and decisive decision-making are essential as this position speaks on behalf of BWC as the authority on UEGF. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Administrative Officer 2; or

Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
