THE POSITION

The Office of General Counsel is seeking a highly motivated Legal Analyst to provide legal support and analysis to the Legal Office of the Department of State. Your work will focus on state laws and regulations; legislative history; agency programs; and judicial, legislative, transactional, and administrative processes. If you are detail-oriented with excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and multi-tasking skills and enjoy a fast-paced work environment, apply today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Legal Analyst, you will also be responsible for interpreting and implementing commonwealth policies and legal protocols, determining and coordinating the information, as well as documenting management needs of a case, procurement, contract, or other legal matter. Additional duties include:

Analyzing and summarizing legislative and regulatory research

Determining the impact of statutory changes to current agency policies and operations

Synthesizing, summarizing, and presenting case-specific legal research data and investigative data

Drafting, reviewing, and analyzing agreements

Preparing procurement solicitations and related documents

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after 6 months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school; or

Five years of legal research and analysis experience including three years at the professional level, and an associate's degree; or

Three years of professional experience in legal research and analysis, and a bachelor's degree; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional experience in legal research and analysis.Additional Requirements:
