In this role, you will perform advanced professional laboratory work with responsibilities for preparation of microbiological media and reagents including their quality control. You will also perform serological assays such as Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for the detection of antigens or antibodies, and isolation and identification of bacterial and fungal pathogens from diagnostic submissions.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 1 day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in microbiology; or

A bachelor's degree that includes 20 credits in microbiology, cellular biology, molecular biology or bacteriology and 12 credits in chemistry or biochemistry.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
