The McClure Company is searching for a Sheet Metal Estimator in Harrisburg, PA that will report to the Chief Estimator. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, ensuring we know everything required to determine the cost of a project and win the award.Sheet Metal Estimator Essential Functions:

Thoroughly review plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the overall cost of the project

Analyze time, material and manpower requirements for each project

Perform material takeoffs and develop a written estimate of cost to perform the work according to the specifications

Experience with Autobid Sheetmetal or willingness to quickly learn and utilize on a daily basis

Sheet metal and piping experience preferred, or be willing to be cross trained in both

Provide the Manager of Estimating with a detailed cost estimate, corresponding proposal letter and bid form breakout and take over ownership of the project

Interface with customers, vendors and subcontractors to determine the cost of the project. Gather information to determine subcontractor and vendor suitability and aggressively gain the best pricing

Work with senior estimator in developing project estimates and applying "mark up" and "labor factors"

Visit customer field locations as required to ascertain project conditions

Attend pre and post bid meetings as required and be able to effectively present information to clients to sell our projects

Select pool of potential subcontractors and equipment vendors to solicit their proposals and analyze them for compliance with job documents.

Analyze special safety and code requirements on all projects

Ability to work on multiple projects at a time, and adapt to project changes

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results to meet required deadlines

Work as part of an integrated team in acquiring projects

Properly turns over bid documents to Project Management in a timely manner

Other duties as assigned.

Sheet Metal Estimator Education, experience, technical skills & attributes required:

A two-year degree from a community college or trade school or Bachelor's degree from a four-year College/University

At least 2 years of experience in a similar position

Self-motivated, possess strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)

Sheet Metal Estimator Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb a ladder, when on a jobsite

Ability to walk at least 1 mile, when on a jobsite

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in hot environments; including but not limited to full sleeves, glasses, hardhat & steel toed boots in summer temperatures, when on a jobsite

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.Position is full-time Monday - Friday and is a remote work position.McClure Company is an Equal opportunity employer.
