Position Overview: As a Handyman, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and repair needs of our apartment portfolio are met promptly and efficiently. This position is offered as a 1099 contract work, meaning you will be considered an independent contractor, responsible for your taxes and insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs in apartments and common areas.
Address plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues as needed.
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
Assist with appliance repairs and installations.
Repair and replace damaged fixtures, locks, and doors.
Paint and touch up walls, ceilings, and trim.
Perform basic carpentry work and drywall repairs.
Respond to maintenance requests from residents and property management.
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed within established timelines.
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
Exterior maintenance, lawn care, and snow removal.
Qualifications:
Contractors license and insured.
Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance.
Basic carpentry and drywall repair skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Physical fitness to perform various maintenance tasks.
Availability for on-call and weekend work as needed.
Must have the ability to supply and maintain their own tools necessary for the job.
