As a Clerk 2, you will be one of the first individuals that our community members interact with, so it is vital that you have top-notch customer service skills. You will dispatch drivers and vehicles, answer phones, schedule trips, appropriately route calls, maintain electronic and written records, and use a computer and tablet. We work in a collaborative environment, and you will be communicating with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. As part of your role, you must also develop a proficient operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System. Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may be expected to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
You may be expected to travel out of the county, including overnight travel, for meetings or training.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.Other Requirements:

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
