We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate County Social Services Aide 2 to join the team and become an advocate in ensuring that our valued residents have a home. If you have previous experience and training in social services, this is a wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a County Social Services Aide 2, you will provide a variety of vital services for clients and assist them in achieving their housing needs for housing stabilization. We are looking for someone who possesses strong social and organizational skills, while also sharing our commitment towards preventing homelessness and rapidly rehousing homeless households.The County Social Services Aide 2 plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive assistance to clients seeking housing and related resources. This position involves a range of tasks from client support and community outreach to data management and administrative duties. Some specific responsibilities may include assisting with client walk-ins, home visits, and general housing phone calls; scheduling check-ins for caseworkers, including phone meetings, Zoom meetings, and in-person meetings; and providing support in apartment and job searches, including attending apartment showings with clients.Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Possibility for irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Occasional overnight and out of county travel.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Pike, Monroe, Susquehanna, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
