Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Business Advisory for our client in the Greater Philadelphia area. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering business advisory services to a portfolio of clients in the insurance industry, managing company audits, and team development. This role also includes business development and strategic leadership within the organization.Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of business advisory services to a portfolio of insurance industry clients, providing insights on financial reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Advise insurance companies on complex accounting and auditing matters, mergers & acquisitions, capital structure, tax strategies, and regulatory issues, specifically as they pertain to the insurance sector.
Lead and manage insurance company audits, including overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of engagements in compliance with the firm's methodologies and applicable standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, NAIC).
Review audit workpapers and ensure accurate and timely preparation of audit reports.
Supervise, mentor, and develop audit seniors, managers, and staff by providing coaching, feedback, and career development guidance.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture while ensuring the team adheres to firm and industry standards.
Oversee resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
The ideal Director of Business Advisory candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA required. Professional certification (CFA, CIA, or CISA) preferred.Other requirements for the Director of Business Advisory position include and are not limited to:
8+ years of experience in public accounting or consulting, with a focus on serving insurance industry clients.
Proven experience in managing and leading audits of insurance companies, including understanding of accounting, regulatory, and risk management frameworks relevant to the insurance sector.
Strong experience in providing advisory services related to financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management in the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, NAIC).
In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, including regulations, financial reporting, and emerging trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership, clients, and team members.
