Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/.The Global Commercial Disease Area Strategy (DAS) Leader – Rheumatology will provide leadership and oversight of a growing portfolio of disease areas, such as psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and will be a strong partner with R&D, Business Development, and the Regions to deliver our innovative therapies worldwide.Key responsibilities will include:CREATE THE FUTURE
Create the short- and long-range, end-to-end strategy for the disease area; Direct and align portfolio strategy with the disease area strategy and manage the quality of the portfolio to execute against Johnson & Johnson’s goals
Ownership of the commercial view for opportunities aligned to disease area strategy; crafting asset valuations in partnership with global analytics and delivering clear communication of case through governance process
Lead the development of target product profiles and provide strategic commercial input into clinical study development, product development decisions, and labeling to improve value creation.
Partner with business development to assess external opportunities, provide commercial expertise to support licensing and acquisition activities
External perspective to identify groundbreaking strategies, including disease interception, in select new spaces that align with the disease area stronghold (biomarkers, diagnostics, etc.)
Innovate by using technology-enabled solutions to improve patient outcomes.
Lead & manage the present
Build a deep understanding of the disease area.
Enhance the value of in-market assets, drive the development and implementation of key components of commercial strategy, including global positioning, branding, key message platform development, strategic communication and launch successful global brands.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (e.g. regulatory, medical affairs, market access, R&D, etc.) to facilitate functional strategies, reimbursement and overall decision-making.
Partner with regional leadership to build a winning global commercial strategy and secure regional implementation.
Effectively navigate the J&J network, leverage relationships and credibility to advocate for DAS positions, and influence key stakeholders and decision makers.
Coach and lead a team of strategic marketing professionals to develop deep commercial insights, communicate clear commerical cases and ensure execution is aligned to strategy.
Accountable for attracting and developing talent, and advancing GCSO talent agenda
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred
A minimum of 12 years related business experience is required.
Broad based commercial experience; including P&L management, inline and pipeline management, and launch strategy and execution; Immunology experience is helpful
Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries, preferably across multiple countries/market types/access models is required.
Deep appreciation of science; ability to translate into strategy is required.
Demonstrated high learning agility in new subject areas is required.
Track record for effectively handling resources and investments to increase impact, including facility in leading teams to strong business and portfolio recommendations based on sound, insightful, qualitative and quantitative decision-making approaches and tools is required.
Demonstrated ability to lean into highly complex discussions and influence difficult decisions with a large amount of ambiguity is required.
Proven strategic thinking and strategic commercial skills across product and lifecycle is required.
Successful track record in leading and/or inspiring teams across multiple functions (sales and marketing, medical affairs, analytics, market access, business development, operations and supply chain) is required.
Global experience is preferred.
Understanding of Pharma R&D process is preferred.
