In this role, you will contribute to the planning, construction, and upkeep of natural-surfaced recreational trails and associated infrastructure, primarily facilitating the execution of professionally crafted recreational plans for the trail systems within the Rothrock Forest District. Your responsibilities will include operating various types of equipment commonly utilized for the construction, repair, and maintenance of backcountry trails and related front country infrastructure, specifically those with a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds or more, including truck and trailer combinations with a trailer GVW of 10,000 pounds or more.You will be tasked with the regular maintenance of heavy machinery, power tools, and hand tools, and will assist with manual labor when not engaged in operating assigned equipment, while also serving as a lead worker when designated. The season runs from approximately March until November at which time the employee is placed on leave without pay.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more: or
Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.Conditions of Employment:
This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
