The Paralegal - Litigation works closely with Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel (Litigation and Intellectual Property), Deputy General Counsel (Compliance/Employment Law) and others within the law department to maintain professional and efficient performance of the delivery of legal services to the law department attorneys and their clients.Functions as a key member of the in-house litigation team and the overall Arkema law department working in a fast-paced environment, requiring wide range of capabilities, and flexibility. This position reports to Deputy General Counsel (Litigation and Intellectual Property).#LI-TJ1Key Activities
Substantial interface with corporate, plant and outside counsel staffDocument review for relevance, privilege, responsiveness, trade secrets/confidentialityDrafting correspondence, memoranda, summaries and reports; drafting and coordinating discovery requests and responsesResponding to agency information requestsPreparing information for compliance issuesDatabase and spreadsheet design and managementConducting legal, regulatory and non-legal research via Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and the Internet; conducting factual researchTracking expenses and budgets, and legal invoice managementContract review and database entryNotifying and communicating with insurance carriers and other indemnitorsMaintaining internal litigation docketing system and electronic case monitoringAssist with bankruptcy and record management processesReview and recommend activities, technologies or processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.Stay current and proficient with the law in their practice area(s), particularly in the area of discovery/document production/spoliation; the state and federal rules of civil procedures in common jurisdictions; attorney-client privilege.Experience/EducationBachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate is required.
