Job Overview
We’re looking for a confident and talented Design/CAD Specialist to create detailed basement designs and plans using Chief Architect software. This full-time, in-office role requires you to work hand-in-hand with our sales team during the design process, ensuring every basement project meets client expectations. Candidates must be available to work one late night per week (until 9 PM) as part of our commitment to showing up for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precise and creative basement designs, floor plans, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect software.
- Partner closely with the salesperson during the design process to align concepts with client needs and sales goals.
- Guide clients through the selection process with confidence and expertise, helping them envision their finished basement.
- Listen attentively to client feedback to create tailored, practical basement solutions.
- Apply value engineering to optimize designs for functionality, aesthetics, and budget.
- Create detailed spec sheets to support project execution and client communication.
- Provide support to the project manager as needed to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Collaborate with the Miller Home Group team to ensure every basement project reflects our high standards.
- Uphold our “we show up” attitude in all client and team interactions.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Chief Architect software (required).
- Strong design and CAD skills with a focus on basement finishing projects.
- Confidence in working alongside a salesperson and engaging directly with clients during the design phase.
- Excellent listening skills to understand and address client needs.
- Experience or interest in value engineering to maximize basement design efficiency.
- Ability to create clear and accurate spec sheets for project use.
- Willingness to assist the project manager with design-related support when required.
- Ability to work in-office in Ephrata, PA, with flexibility to stay until 9 PM one night per week.
