Position Summary:The Chemist prepares and analyzes environmental samples using both standard and complex testing according to approved scientific methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. Validates and reviews data for accuracy through Level I reviews. Uploads laboratory data into LIMS system to generate data packages for delivery to clients. Must be knowledgeable of a broad range of laboratory testing equipment requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation. This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Batching and prepping samples for analysis considering special and varied client and quality assurance requirementsMaking reagents for sample analysisAliquots extracted samples to maximize laboratory productivityPreparing appropriate standards to ensure compliant dataOperation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentsDetermining appropriate routine and complex analysis methods for a wide variety of samplesMaintains logbooks and refrigerator temperature logsPerforms safety inspections in areasProficient, with IDOCs, assigned methods carried out in the area:Performs Level I review of data produced to ensure accuracy.Maintains other documentation as requiredUploads data into LIMS system for reviewMonitors refrigerator temperaturesResponsible for performing job functions within Eurofins Environment Testing America environmental health and safety and quality assurance standardsMaintains housekeeping standards for work areaFollow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:Organic preparationMetals preparation and analysisGas ChromatographyMass SpectrometryRadio ChemistryWet ChemistryHigh Resolution preparation and analysisLow Resolution preparation and analysisInventories and stocks laboratory suppliesWashes and inventories glasswareWrites / reviews client ready complex NCM’sPurges analyzed samplesAssists in training new analysts on laboratory proceduresAssists in other areas of laboratory when neededAdditional Duties as assigned Role is 2nd shift, Tues-Sat.
