Manager, Quality Control US-PA-Lancaster Job ID: 2024-12068 Type: Employee # of Openings: 1 Category: Quality Control and VBLSS US-PA-Lancaster-81 OverviewManage the quality assurance system to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards for Lancaster Plant Operations.ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Establishes quality assurance programs for ISO requirements or special customer requirements.Controls and coordinates new products or programs to monitor design, construction, performance and quality analysis of products for conformance to customer and contractual requirements.In coordination with purchasing and product engineering, evaluates supplier process capabilities, approves new suppliers and monitors on going supplier performance. Takes corrective actions as necessary based on supplier performance.Maintains nuclear auditing qualifications.Supports the Nuclear Quality Program as needed.Establishes long range objectives pertaining to Quality Assurance programs, performing requisite investigations and analysis.Monitors and reports Key Business metrics related to quality, and develops countermeasures as required.Monitors effectiveness of present Quality Assurance programs and consults with management, customers, subcontractors and supplier representatives to plan, schedule, coordinate and direct new Quality Assurance programs.Reviews proposals, bids, and related documents for Quality Assurance requirements. Establishes and monitors procedures to assure conformance that include requirements for special equipment, personnel, services or space.Responsible for monitoring, reporting and disposition of nonconforming material from internal process or and suppliersDevelops and implements quality & inspection procedures as required to ensure product quality.Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with managers or supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.Investigates customer complaints regarding quality.Ensures compliance to applicable codes and product certifications ensuring personnel are trained to meet standards such as BPE and ASME Section 9.Provide production support as needed.QualificationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises QA Engineers and TechsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to peers and top management.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as statistics, exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, nd factor analysis.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.COMPUTING SKILLSAbility to effectively utilize word processing software, Minitab or similar Statistical Software and spreadsheets and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSObtain internal and certification in Visual Examination, Inspector, Non-destructive Examination, Greenbelt and Auditor Qualifications must be achieved and maintained.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
