Job Summary:Under direct supervision, provides delivery & messenger service within the confines of a Medical Center & attached satellite clinics. Drive company vehicles. Monitor driving condition of vehicles. Route specimens to laboratory. Transport laboratory specimens. Transport medical records. Records and Information: Locate specific documents and forward to requesting departments
Place records in assigned space on shelf
Unload and verify records (inpatient charts, x-ray film, and administrative documents)
Retrieve and forward charts
Materials and Supplies: Fill orders for supplies and equipment
Deliver and pick up supplies (including medical), carts and equipment
Load and transport mail, specimens, supplies or instruments
Load and unload delivery vehicles
Maintain delivery and vehicle records
Pick up and deliver mail from Post Office
Provide delivery and messenger service to outlying clinics
Sort and distribute incoming mail
Operate manual equipment such as pallet jack, dolly
Operate power equipment such as hydraulic lifter
Complete department recharge documents
Track and retrieve medical records
Deliver and pick up U.S. mail from the Post Office
Operate U.S. Postage Meter to affix postage
Prepare outgoing mail
Administrative and other: Train and orient new personnel
Answer telephone and take messages
Inspect vehicles for proper working condition, and malfunctions
Maintain vehicle use and maintenance records
Perform vehicle maintenance and safety checks
Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed
