DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks include preventative and predictive maintenance to prevent and minimize mobile equipment downtime, problem solving on mobile equipment systems, and safety inspections while working in a team environment.
The Mobile Equipment Maintenance Mechanic will work under specific instruction and direction of the department leader or a qualified mobile mechanic to perform a variety of duties in the repair and maintenance of mobile equipment within the plant and perform all aspects of job responsibilities with a strong emphasis on high quality and workmanship. Experience level dictates the need for specialized training and instructions needed to remain knowledgeable of new equipment, practices and changes in the plant operations. This can be done with, on the job training, coaching and specialized classroom training and instruction.Please note this is considered a safety sensitive position.Schedule:
Our plant runs 24/7/365. Shifts are a 12 hour rotating shift (6a-6p or 6-6a) on a 28 day cycle. Employees are scheduled 14 of the 28 days and off for 14 of the 28 days. There are mandatory and voluntary overtime opportunities. Sundays are always paid premium (time and a half). Pay is weekly.Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor/maintain all batteries for mobile equipment on a schedule time bases.
Monitor and perform all scheduled preventive maintenance on all mobile equipment
Plan, layout special projects within the department
Keep accurate record of time and work performed on mobile equipment daily in the Oracle eAM system.
Troubleshoot Hydraulic systems and make necessary repairs
Make repairs to diesel and LP fuel systems, coolying systems, SCR systems
Combustion engine repairs
Troubleshooting steering axles and power shift transmissions
Follow all SOPs, safety rules and regulations, and safe job proceduresQualifications
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 2 years industrial mobile equipment maintenance experience troubleshooting, repairing and installing: diesel, LP gas, & electric power trains; hydraulics; pneumatics; transmissions; brake & cooling systems; differentials; OR Advanced Technical Degree (Associate in Specialized Trade in industrial Mobile Equipment, Diesel Engine field); OR Minimum 2 years Military experience in a heavy wheeled or tracked vehicle repair fieldPreferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years industrial mobile equipment maintenance experience, including repair and diagnostic troubleshooting on the following types of Diesel, LP, & Electric Mobile Equipment and components: Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Sweepers & Scrubbers, Caterpillar Crawlers, personnel Carts, and Mobile Hydraulic Cranes Hydrostatic transmissions, hydraulic systems, engines, brake & cooling systems, electrical & electronic systems, and differential systemsEqual Opportunity Employer-minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
