Provides recommendations to management by analyzing production data and finding viable ways to increase efficiency in production and oversees the implementation of any suitable changes. Ensures the success of improvement programs using Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action teams. Communicates Production needs to, and works cooperatively with, all supporting departments. Also works cooperatively to respond to the objectives of Quality Assurance and Health and Safety and Environmental Departments and provides feedback from the production viewpoint. The Manufacturing Manager works with problems that are of a complex and non-routine nature and often needs to make decisions and create new solutions with complete responsibility.

Lead/guide Production Supervisors in meeting the organization's Production objectives.

Coordinate activities between all disciplines and solve any department problems to meet production ship schedules.

Develop Production Department budget in conjunction with AGM.

Foster an environment based on teamwork between the Production and supporting Departments.

Work with Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action teams to increase efficiency in the production process.

Attend staff meetings and provide analysis of production related data to Senior Management. Presents and recommends methods to improve productivity and efficiency in production methods and oversees implementation.

Coordinate the activities of the Production Supervisors and oversee the implementation of improvements on the shop floor

Qualifications needed:

Post-secondary education, preferably engineering, mechanics.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Minimum five year’s prior experience as a supervisor in charge of 50-100 employees, in a manufacturing facility, in the automotive industry.

Five years’ experience working in the automotive industry utilizing JIT (Just in Time) strategies.

Excellent decision-making ability.

Proven Management and Employee Relations skills.

Computer skills an asset.

Leadership skills demonstrated through ability to lead through effective communication, motivation and teamwork.
